The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Lorenz Zwick Lorenz was a Private in a Mountain Troop Regiment and fell on April 15, 1943 at the Kuban Bridgehead at the age of 33.
