Description: 1941 hardcover, impressively large, over 2000 pages, with thumb index. This edition is a complete revision of Webster’s Imperial dictionary. If you read the introduction, which has been photographed, information is given regarding the lineage of this book. This one is in reasonably good condition, though you can see the outer hinges are starting, and there is some creasing on some of the pages, mostly towards the front or rear. The binding is very good, the book clearly has been used, the spine title edge shows some creasing from use. Totally clean, not moldy, and not musty. Not a bad example of this book. The pages inside are generally extremely clean, and an excellent condition. It is mostly the pages at the front or rear that have some wear or creasing, and of course you can see some wear at the outer hinges. Head of spine is starting to crack, just a bit, foot of spine not yet. I would rate this at about 6.5 to 7 out of 10 in terms of condition. Very usable and would be perfect to place on a book stand. It would look lovely. The fore edge has held up beautifully. Part of the price for this book includes the time and materials and attention that will be necessary to package it properly. I have extensive experience and have developed many methods to package up books like this for proper protection.
