White (1862-1924) is an artist born in 1862 in Illinois. She lived in Peoria, IL in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She had a studio on North Jefferson St. with her sister, Nona. They painted and gave lessons that included china painting, oil and watercolor. In 1907, Emily moved to California with Nona, and died in 1924, eight years before Nona. Emily studied at the AIC for 4 years under Jules Guerin and with Charles Woodbury in Maine. She and her sister moved to Los Angeles from Peoria, IL in 1905. She worked in William Wendt's old studio for years before moving to Laguna Beach. Her work is of coastals, marines and landscapes as well as miniatures. She was a member of the Laguna Beach Art Association. Pictures are an integral part of this listing.
