Description: VTG Sterling Overlay Link Concho Belt Hopi Style Pictorial Native American This is a fabulous sterling silver link concho belt in a traditional Hopi overlay and pictorial style. Each concho is a different picture, and includes a bear paw, roadrunner, turtle, corn, kokopelli, rabbit, and others. The oxidized (darkened) base of each concho has been hand textured. The conchos are connected with silver links. From tip to tip, the belt is 41 1/2" long. The conchos and the buckle are each 1 1/2" in diameter. The silver links (which are no longer perfectly round), are between 11/16" to 3/4" in diameter. It weighs 250 g. The artist's hallmark is "C", which could indicate a handful of Navajo artists. The overlay design and the style of the pictures would be considered traditional Hopi style. However, the artist could have been from a different tribe.
