Description: An absolutely adorable 1980s equivalent of squeaky shoes for children. This pair of zōri (elegant shoes usually worn with kimono) was worn by a girl during "Shichi-go-san"- a holiday for girls age 7 and 3, (or 5yr boys) to celebrate their growth and well being. The vivid vermilion red and gold pattern is eye catching. Inside the heels are hidden small brass bells, making cute sound when the child walks. The sole is made of leather. It seems it was used only once. The nails holding them are a bit rusted, and there are minuscule stains due to the age of the item. The tops, straps, and the sides of the shoes are in an excellent condition. Shoe length 17.5 cm (European size 28-29, American size 11-12) Shipping from Japan via registered mail.
