Description: ***********The Standard 90 manual wind movement runs about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. Given this and considering that the movement doesn't appear to have been serviced since the early 1990's a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. Additionally this is a midsize watch, measuring approximately 31 mm excluding the crown, approximately 34 mm including the crown and approximately 15.5 mm between the lugs.***********This seldom seen vintage Savitt has an aged Explorer-style dial and the lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has developed a deep patina. The midsize all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL ANTIMAGNETIC DUSTPROTECTED" with the personal inscription "WCCC-SAVITT" followed by "TIMES NEWSBOY,""MERIT AWARD,""LOUIS BATAYTE" and "1962" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "C.D.C." followed by "HONG KONG." The crystal shows scratching. The 17 jewels Standard 90 manual wind movement runs strong albeit fast. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 21 full revolutions the movement gained about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. The crown winds with an appropriate amount of tension. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering that it doesn't appear to have been serviced since the early 1990's a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch, which today would be considered unisex, measures approximately 31 mm excluding the crown, approximately 34 mm including the crown and approximately 15.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 6 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9 mm. This watch comes on what may be its original Speidel stretch stainless steel band. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.
