Description: Vintage Afghan Tribal Handmade 100% Wool Kilim Rug 56" X 40" Signed In Weave Made from sheep wool, both weft and warp. I acquired this in the mid-1990s in a cubbyhole rug shop in Konya, Turkey that only sold tribal rugs from the area however, this one comes from Afghanistan. The dealer took trips there and elsewhere buying rugs directly from tribes and reselling them in Konya. It hung on my wall for a long time but didn't find a place when I moved so ... here it is, looking for a new home. A signature or identifier of some sort is weaved in on one corner (see photo #3). Not sure if I've pictured it correctly though; from the top side of the kilim it's displayed in the reverse of photo #3. Note that it is vintage but it's not fragile. I can't date it exactly but it wasn't new when I bought it. A beautiful piece IMO. Measures 56" x 40" or 4', 8" x 3' feet, 4".
