Description: The fine item you are considering is a Vintage 4 Valve Mirafone Tuba Model 186 Needs Work. This majestic old Mirafone has a bell which measures 16 ½” in diameter, which, I believe, makes it a model 186. The tuba sports four valves and has a serial number of “10857”. The instrument will need some work, as the bell shows creasing/crumpling, with a small tear in one spot, there are some pretty good dents in other areas and the valves, while I can get them to move, really need to be gone through, cleaned and lubricated by an instrument repair person. Also, there is one small spit valve (I think it’s a spit valve) that is missing. Yes, she’ll need some work, but I’ve priced it with plenty of room for repairs.
