Description: Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! This is a FINE example of an older unit logo patch for the First Battalion, Fifth Marines. These can't be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items. This, of course, makes these older-logo patches even more collectible! Not sure how long the older ones will last, so don't miss out! 1st Bn, 5th Marines has served in practically every major US conflict since its heroic debut with the 4th Marine Brigade in WWI ! Their battle streamers also encompass WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and more recently Desert Storm where they served with the 1st MarDiv (reinforced) as part of Task Force Ripper. Note the 1st Marine Division patch under the crossed sabers. Legend on scroll at the bottom of this one reads: PRIDE IN BEING PROFESSIONALS Recent Decades: In 2003, this unit was on the ground in Operation Iraqi Freedom for the initial invasion! Following that, they served a second tour in Fallujah in 2004, and deployed once again in 2005 for a third tour in Ramadi! (Thanks, everyone, for your input!) This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch.
