Unsigned Alice Caviness, Bold Rhinestone Demi Parure Of Clip Earrings & Brooch

Description: Beautiful Demi Parure attributed to Alice Caviness. Set of clip on earrings with matching brooch. Gunmetal tone set with massive red center rhinestone, deep sapphire navettes, deep amethyst chatons and lavender & white givre rounded chatons. This set came to me from two separate estate sales many months apart from the other. The pin clasp hardware is a rollover catch mechanism in good working condition. There is some wear to the silver finish on the back. Normal for a piece this age. Likewise the earring clips function properly and there is some wear to the gunmetal finish. Considering the age of these pieces they are in great vintage condition. I had my doubts but wanted to be sure that this set wasn’t Schreiner. So I showed them to Henry Schreiner’s grandson for verification. He said they were NOT from them. Which brought me back to my initial gut feeling; that they are most likely by Alice Caviness. This attribution is in part to large center stone, which she was very fond of implementing in her designs, the unusual color combo and the pieces over all construction. Normally Caviness signed her pieces with a few exceptions. In one case she rarely signed all pieces when they were sold as a Parure. It was usually the necklace which would bear her signature. Sometimes it was the earrings or just one earring. As one might expect as the decades rolled on most of these sets would get split up. This leaving a number of her pieces unsigned. Note: the last two pics in my pictures is another example of her large center stone designs. The reference pieces are signed. This, like all pieces that I sell, unless otherwise noted, is cleaned and ready to wear! Please feel free to ask any questions or request additional images.
