The book exterior is in lovely condition. The covers are still a strong black colour and square with the dagger on the front still prominent. There are some bumps and small areas of shelf wear to the extremities, but these are very minor and consummate with age.The spine is also in great condition with the black colour, silver titles and Cape logo still prominent. Complete, straight and with tight binding. Again there is minor shelf wear to the extremities. Please do see photos for exact condition. Internally, the book is very clean, with white pages, plus no inscriptions. There are some light marks to inner front and back pages, which are the old tape marks from the dust jacket. There is also some browning to the text block edge. The dust jacket is a brand new superb facsimile/reproduction of the first edition/first impression published by Jonathan Cape in 1962.
