Description: This rare, antique book covers the history of the United States from the settlement of America through the first 100+ years as an independent nation. It contains 1,120 pages of U.S. history plus over 500 illustrations. This book is copyrighted in 1877, but the preface has a date of 1879. The last recorded events go up to 1882. An appendix of over 100 pages covers the Centennial Exhibition. Some of the first few pages are detached and there is some separation of the pages from the binding up through about the first 50 pages. But, all of the pages are present. There are occasional small rips along the edges of pages and small marks but no writing except for the name written on a blank page. Look over the photos to see more of its condition.
