SUPER RARE LEON RUSSELL LP

Description: 12" TEST PRESSING, #SHE1001 STEREO, which became Russell's first LP on his and Denny Cordell's "Shelter Records" SHE1001 Stereo. A message listing song titles from legendary music promoter Don Graham has been taped to the front of a blank, white LP cover, the back of the jacket has an urgent "Please Rush to Ray Milkanese" note written and signed by Graham in black Sharpie. Two remarkable inserts are also included: a 15" X 11" glossy promotional poster titled "Leon Russell has found Shelter," and a two-plus-page promotional letter explaining the "Blue Thumb Records" distribution agreement with Shelter. The originally-white LP cover is lightly-soiled with a few light smudges; corners are lightly-bumped and rounded; no seam splits, a couple minor edge dings, some light foxing (aging) noticeable at the edges, used but definitely not abused; VG+ considering its age. The vinyl and labels are NM. If using RCA matrix numbering system, the delta numbers (A-side: 14535 and B-side: 14535-X) indicates the year 1969. The poster is VG++, a white crease across the middle where it has been folded to include as a cover insert; a very light bend (not crease) in the upper-right corner; otherwise, full color and gloss with no other problems or distractions. The promotional letter is crisp, white, both upper corners have light bending where the letter has been read, NM.
