Description: We are selling an old/vintage Story & Clark upright piano and bench. The piano is used and I would say it needs to be refinished/resurfaced/sanded varnished and tuned/serviced. Structurally, it seems good. I see no cracks or major breaks in the wood in the outer shell. The legs have what looks seams in them. Maybe they are cracks, but both have something similar although one is more noticeable. The piano has some deeper scratches here and there (cats). It also has some water mark stains here and there. I tried to take pictures of them but they may not come out so well. It still has the wheels and rolls around okay on the wood floor we have. We believe the piano is from the early 1960s. Probably 1961/1962 because the serial number on the back is 329448. (I included a chart below with the year the models were released.) The Story & Clark logo on the front of the piano was scratched off by a relative when they were kids so it just says "Story" now. I believe it is 87 or 88 keys total with three bottom pedals. Relating to the condition. As said above, the main structure seems good. I don't think it is going to fall apart. I believe most of the problems are cosmetic and the tuning needs to be done. All pianos need to be tuned on a regularish basis, and this one hasn't been tuned in over 50 years. I believe the wood for all the keys are good. A few keys can get stuck after pressed and need to be lifted back up afterward. Each key makes a sound when pressed. I'm not sure if the key hammers or the wires/string would need servicing or not. I figured that would come with the tuning process but I could be wrong about that. We tried to clean what we could. I do not know how to get to the inside to vacuum it better. We are not going to pay for any delivery costs or pickup costs. Either you can pay a mover to come get it, or come get yourself/selves. (That probably sounds rude but I am not intending it to be that way. Me and my mother can't pick it up.) The buyer should be from Houston or the Houston area and you should message me before purchasing/buy it now. I wouldn't want you to use the buy it now option without both parties having a good idea of how to move this thing.
