Description: SACRIFICE SALE! A hurricane made sure my storage was gone so my foster china needs to move to a permanent home. Damask Rose is a rare vintage pattern made in Narumi, Japan circa 1980-1989. Mikasa makes more than a dozen patterns with "Rose" as part of the name, so be careful when searching. Damask Rose is sought after and even more rare to find in an intact set. Typically, I would point out how versatile a set is, such as "use at the soiree or on a picnic". Not this time. Damask Rose is exquisite. A simple, single gold rose on a very white background. You can mix any color palette but think of candlelight, a couple spinning to a waltz under a chandelier, fine silver & crystal. Elegance. One caution is that this pattern is truly rare, seldom seen in a full set and is essentially a set for 6. If you need more, it may take a while to assemble. Mikasa is an American company contracting with 150 manufacturers in 22 countries! The Narumi, Japan factory has the highest regard. Reflected in the price is that the sugarbowl is topless and there is a crack in the creamer handle (shown in photo). Check my "About" and feel free to ask questions.
