Description: revox a77 reel to reel. I bought this Revox tape deck brand-new in June of 1970. I remember the date well because, after 28 months in Vietnam courtesy of United States Marine Corps, I was on my way home to be discharged. I had a few days layover in Okinawa and when I visited the PX there, I couldn't believe my eyes, they had the best of everything. During the time I spent in Vietnam, aside from two R&Rs, there was no opportunity to spend money so I put my monthly earnings into a high yielding bank account. I never had that much money in my life and when I visited that PX, I decided it was time to make up for lost time and set the world on fire upon my return to civilian life. I bought top-of-the-line stereo equipment, the best Nikon camera and a tuxedo. Standby world, here I come or so I thought. It wasn't long before reality set in. Vietnam veterans got a chilly reception from potential employers and landlords, my affordable house at Venice Beach was broken into twice and a well paying job was nowhere to be found. I put the Revox and other valuable in my parent’s storage unit and bounced around for a few years. Once I had stable housing, I brought it to my house but it was overkill and I never had much use for it. I did use it for a few times but I don't think it has much more than 50 hours of actual use.
