Description: Extremely RARE, and likely a One of a kind bespoke commission, Steuben American Crystal George Washington hand-engraved centerpiece bowl. We see America's First President in uniform as an established statesman and patriot engraved intaglio into the front of this materpiece. The inside of the bowl is completely smooth. Below his sihlouette we have his facsimile signature decorated with stars.The bowl was likely designed by Donald Pollard under the guidance of Arthur Houghton, somewhere between 1950 - 1965.; as such, the quality of the crystal, and the craftsmanship are unparalelled. The piece measures approximately 12" wide x 10" tall, the attached base measures approximately 6" across x 3" tall. The base is decorated with square prunts. It weighs nearly 11 pounds! There are no chips or cracks on the piece, but there are some minor scratches. It is signed Steuben on the base. Please be sure to review ALL photographs and ask for any more prior to purchasing. I was unable to find ANY documentation on this piece, despite reaching out to the Corning Museum of Glass as well as the Carder Steuben Glass Association.
