Nevertheless, the jacket shows the expected wear and tear from military use: some light general staining, some moderate fraying at the cuffs, some moderate wear on the knit cuffs, some moderate wear to the alpaca wool around the collar, one missing button, and one small hole at the back of the left sleeve (see pictures). The main issue is a tear/separation in the zipper tape between the starter box and the first teeth. The tape shows signs of a previous repair there. When perfectly aligned, the zipper still works, but it takes effort. Nevertheless, the zipper will need to be either repaired or replaced. Overall, despite the needed repairs, it remains a fantastic example of the classic U.S. Navy N-1 Deck Jackets from the Second World War, in the rare and sought-after Piqué variant.
