Description: This is a fantastic and historical RARE Fine Antique 19th c. French Emperor NAPOLEON Bronze Sculpture & Medal Lot, which includes a finely made bronze or brass wall plaque, circa 1850, depicting the portrait bust of Emperor Napoleon I, molded in relief, and surrounded by military trophies and bundles of flags, with a large French Imperial Eagle below him. The other item in this lot is a seldomly seen commemorative medallion, issued by the French Imperial government in 1810, to commemorate the marriage of Emperor Napoleon I and Empress Josephine. This medallion is rendered in copper gilt bronze and was placed a long time ago in a custom-made base metal outer frame to be used for wearing on a ribbon or necklace chain. The circa 1850 bronze wall plaque is approximately 7 1/2 inches tall x 5 1/4 inches wide x 2 1/2 inches deep. The circa 1810 medallion is approximately 2 1/8 inches (including outer frame.) Each piece is in good overall condition for well over a century of age and storage, with light scuffs, scratches, verdigris, and tarnishing throughout (please see photos carefully.) Acquired from an old private militaria collection in Los Angeles County, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
