Description: This rare c1915 photo features the Pawling, New York baseball team. Approximate size: 5.6 inches x 3.4 inches This photo originally came from a scrapbook, and there is another photo of an ice hockey rink on the back, possibly also from Pawling, New York. Pawling is a village in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. The John Kane House, a registered historic place, is situated in the village. The village was portrayed as the fictional town of Denning, New York, in the TV series Elementary. The village of Pawling is centrally located in the town of Pawling by the junction of Routes 22 and 55. The village was incorporated in 1893. Pawling also hosts the world's shortest St. Patrick's Day parade. The annual parade is held on Broad Street in the village of Pawling at a length of 223 feet. The reference photo is of a newspaper clipping from the New-York Tribune (New York [N.Y.]), August 25, 1901. The team referenced in this clipping is plausibly the same team organization as in the listing. Please inspect the pictures, as they give the best representation of condition. May have discoloring, edge or corner wear, marks, creases, fading, smudges, corner or edge bends, tears, or corners missing. (E25 inventory number)
