Description: PORT ROYAL 6 POUNDER CANNON GRAPE SHOT BALL,CAPTAIN HENRY MORGAN'S JAMAICA BRIG,1692 This Port Royal 6 pounder cannon grape shot ball was found in the remains of Captain Henry Morgan's Jamaica Brig that sank in Port Royal harbor during the earthquake of 1692, It is in good condition (considered that it was on the bottom of the sea for nearly 300 year when it was found in the 1960's) with light to light/medium pits & has a dark brown with salt water stains patina. NOTE - I use a generic picture as I have several & they are in about the same condition It was on display in the Port Royal Museum in Port Royal for many years. It was bought by a Port Royal historian & collector who was a scuba diver & who had dove on the old port for many years. Port Royal artifacts are now considered to be quite rare as the water around the bay are too polluted by the sewers from the nearby city to be swam or dived in! It comes with a certificate of authenticity. See the 1 pounder cannonball also from Captain Morgan's brig listed separately. . .
