Description: P.J. Higgins FIRST CAREER HBP from Matt Reynolds (Usually An Infielder!!). Shipped USPS Ground Advantage. Buyer pays shipping and handling. On May 24, 2022, the Chicago Cubs visited the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Marcus Stroman started for the Cubs, while Tyler Mahle went for the Reds. Heading into the top of the ninth, the game was out of hand with the Cubs leading 10-3. The Reds brought in Matt Reynolds, the starting shortstop, to pitch the rest of the game. It was Reynolds’s second pitching stint. Alfonso Rivas led off by lining out to Colin Moran. P.J. Higgins walked to the plate. REYNOLDS HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a 74.9-mph “fastball” for a called strike. (Yes, that means Tyler Stephenson also touched this ball!!) Reynolds came back with a 58.3-mph!! curveball for a ball. (I’ve never seen an MLB Authenticated pitch that slow!!) REYNOLDS THREW A 74.1-MPH “FASTBALL” THAT HIT HIGGINS!! IT WAS THE FIRST HBP IN HIGGINS’S MLB CAREER (by my count)!! This ball was then retired. Andrelton Simmons singled to Tyler Naquin. Christopher Morel was HBP. Rafael Ortega hit a sac fly, scoring Higgins. Seiya Suzuki ended the half inning by popping out to Brandon Drury. The Cubs went on to win the game 11-4. This ball is MLB Authenticated for Higgins’s HBP from Reynolds. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. The ball is shrink wrapped, which is how it came from the Reds. NO RETURNS ALLOWED IF SHRINK WRAP IS REMOVED. Thank you for purchasing!!
