He described it as a "Water Whistle" The item was recently appraised and the appraiser also stated it may be "Chimu" The Chimu Empire was one of the largest pre-Hispanic New World states, dominating much of the north coast of Peru between ca. AD 900 to 1470 when conquered by the rival Inca Empire. It is made of clay that is fired into pottery. It measures: 7" H x 5" W x 3" D
