Description: ON THE CHOICE OF BOOKSBY THOMAS CARLYLE1886 43 pages, Hardbound, dated 1886. Found this in the basement of the estate of a multi-generational family. Approximately 7" x 4-1/2" in size and about 1/4" thick. I found this brief description in comments about this book:a brief biography of Carlyle and his life as seen through letters between himself and other and in writings of those who knew him. This section was a bit of an unexpected slog but interesting nonetheless. The actual meat and potatoes of the book, Carlyle's lengthy address to the student body is quite good. Fair to Good used condition. Overall in good solid shape with a good binding, no missing, torn or creased pages BUT, has minor water stains on pages, front and rear cover have water stains on corners (see photo). No writing, highlighting or underlining. Inside the book, the paper has separated from the spine of the book (see photo). I will also combine auctions BUT once paid will ship (sorry cannot hold paid items, eBay will revoke my seller status). However, certain items CANNOT be shipped outside the United States such as military radio equipment. I will not bend, tweek or break any laws restricting the shipping of certain item.Comes from a smoke free home, feel free to ask questions.
