Description: WWII-era New Zealand paper notes, featuring one 10 shillings and one 1 pound denomination from the years 1940 to 1955. These notes are circulated and have historical significance in their design and origin. They were manufactured and circulated in New Zealand during a time of global conflict and represent a unique piece of currency history from the region. 10 Shilling banknote from New Zealand with signature of T.P. Hanna. Captain James Cook on obverse with water mark of Maori Chief. Reverse has a kiwi, New Zealand's national bird, on the left and the signing of the Waitangi Treaty at center. Circulated with light soiling, multiple folds and wrinkles but solid original paper with no splits, no tears, no pinholes. Strong clear ink and images. One Pound note with signature of T.P. Hanna. Obverse has multicolor under-print with Captain James Cook on obverse and water mark of Maori Chief. Reverse shows a square sail rigged ship on the water in front of a coastline. Circulated note with multiple folds, wrinkles, and handling. No splits. 2 pinholes. Small tear near lower left corner. Small area of upper right corner is missing. Strong clear ink and images. After my parents' death, these notes were found inside a money belt presumably from the same era. The money belt cannot attach to a belt in its current condition. I can include it at no extra cost if you want it. Just let me know whether you want it.
