Description: NEW HTF PRE-WAR FRONT PILOT ASM. FW/WHEELS 420, 3307 ETC. AMERICAN FLYER O GAUGE3RD PIC SHOWS APPLICATION. LOCOMOTIVE NOT INCLUDED THIS ASSEMBLY IS ALL BRAND NEW.WHAT I KNOW IS PRE GILBERT BUYING A.F. IN 1938 THIS ASM. WAS USED ON MODELS LIKE THE 3307-8 WITH NICKEL PLATED STEEL WHEELS. POST GILBERT AS SEEN ON THE 420 ETC. THEY WERE FITTED WITH THE ZINC CONTAINING WHEELS THAT FEW SURVIVED INTACT. WHEN THE WHELS FAILED THE KID COULD EASILY REMOVE THE TWO SCREWS THAT ATTACHED IT TO BOTH SIDES OF THE SHELL. IT ALSO SERVED AS AN ANTI WARPING OF THE TWO SHEEL PIECES. I DO THINK THE TWO ARMS DID PROVIDE A LITTLE MORE STABILITY S WELL. OF COURSE IT EAS MORE COMPLEX TO MAKE AND GILBERT WOULD IN A COUPLE YEARS GO TO A EASILY STAMPED RECTANGLER FRAME.ALSO NOTE THE WAY TO TELL IF THESE WORK ON YOUR MODEL YOU CAN EMAIL ME A PIC AND IN ALL CASES THEYRE WOULD BE CORRESPONDING HOLES FOR SCREWS ON EITHER STEAM CHEST. SEE PIC 3. LASTLY THERE MAY BE SOME WARPAGE ON YOUR SHELL. THE FRAME CAN BE TWEEKED TO FIT EVEN IF THAT IS THE CASE. I DO HAVE IT AVAILIBLE IN THE NICKEL PLATE REPLACEMENT 3/4" WHEELS AND WITH A SPECAL ORDERTHIS IS MADE IN THE USA THE PILOT FRAME PARTS CUT IN THE USA AND PUT TOGETHER HERE. YES WE COMBINEIF YOU BUY MORE OR COMBINE W/OTHER LISTINGS THERE IS NICE SHIPPING SAVINGS.FYIEXTRA ROLLING STOCK SHIPS JUST 2 DOLLARS MORE WITH THE PURCHASE OF ONE, MOST LOOSE PARTS $1 OR LESS WHEN COMBINED AT THE SAME TIME..EXTRA SHIPPING WILL BE REFUNDED WHEN WE PACKED USUALLY THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY..
