We were mesmerized when we opened up a lock to photograph the inside. We have tremendous respect for the professionals that designed, manufactured, assembled and now service these locks! ABOUT THE LeFEBURE LOCK COMPANY꞉ The LeFebure company was started in 1892 as a safe maker. It was acquired by De La Rue PLC., of England in 1992. The company may have been experiencing financial problems, as an article in the Knight-Ridder Tribune reported on July 30, 1996 that "LeFebure Corporation announced...that it will close its plant on Old Dubuque Road on September 27, idling 53 full-time and temporary workers. Production at the plant will be transferred to LeFebure's Mexico, Mo., manufacturing facility." According to the October 12, 1998 edition of the Cincinnati Business Courier, Hamilton-based Mosler Inc. acquired LeFebure Corp. for $34 million. Mosler supplied security systems and services. After 134 years in business, Mosler filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2001, citing continuing debt problems and ceased operations shortly thereafter. Diebold subsequently announced programs to support former Mosler customers and ended up buying much of the former company in bankruptcy court a few months later. Our research leads us to believe that today, replacement "LeFerbure" locks are now manufactured by a company by the name of Bullseye S.D. Locks LLC. Commencing business in 2001, Bullseye initial intention was to offer replacement LeFebure safe deposit locks. SHIPPING COST꞉ Your shipping cost is calculated upon checking out.
