This is being sold for the purpose of replacing an existing Kwikset series 985 double cylinder deadbolt that is worn or damaged. These were acquired from store returns so the condition looks new but they may have small scratches from parts rubbing against each other. Note: to install the 2 deadbolt screws the cover plate on the inside deadbolt cylinder must be removed. After the outside and inside deadbolt cylinders are installed on the door then the cover plate for the inside cylinder is reinstalled. The 2 screws that hold the cover plate are NOT included. The cover plate is only decorative. If you can't find screws just use a small piece of double stick tape.
