Description: This is an antique original Georgian handwritten parchment document , concerning land in Wiltshire. This is an indenture, for the sale of land in the Wiltshire village of Berwick St. John (Barwick Saint John) The agreement has been drawn up between a clerk named John Gane and a man named Richard Streton. The document , complete with a George II duty stamp, is dated 19th May1739 and signed and wax sealed by John Gane. The one sheet document ( 44 cm x 33 cm) is in a used but good condition. A little creased,age worn and faded but firm ,complete and presentable with no real damage. A nice authentic piece of Wiltshire social history. Reasonably priced for a two hundred and eighty year old document. The item will be posted in its folded condition. Free postage to the UK.
