Description: We found this jug when we moved into our home 20 years ago. We live in one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood. This jug is made by Hazel Atlas. The mark is hard to photograph but easier to see in person. It was made for the Margo Wine Co. based in Philadelphia, PA which I have confirmed to be in operation in the 40s and 50s. The cork came with it and appears to be original as to fit, but there are no markings. The jug is embossed with a lattice pattern with grape vines on the front and more grapes on the shoulder of the vessel. Nice piece of local history (we are located north of Philadelphia in the Lehigh Valley.) Local pick up is also available.
