Description: Beautiful bowl that is glazed inside with blue and outside with a beige matte and black speckled glaze. The bowl is undated and does not use Mr. Gordy's regular stamps. My mother was an avid collector of regional pottery, and most of her best pieces were bought in the early 60s when she was working Plum Nelly and learning about artists. My guess is that this bowl is from that era. The bowl is approximately 8.25" wide and just a bit shy of 2.5" tall. I noticed some browner areas in the outside glaze, and I am unsure if it is color variation or perhaps a byproduct of the firing method used. It is most noticeable on the bottom, so it could be from tape on the bottom or again it could be early enough to have been wood fired.
