He is a cobra artist, but in a slightly different sense. In 1966, he exhibited with the CoBrA artist Asger Jorn and Karel Appel. His work is clearly influenced by the informal style of painting of these artists. In rapid brushstrokes Pedersen has the strong colors applied very thickly, so that a moving, relief-like surface.
