Fine Baker Furniture Inlaid Secretary in Burled Walnut with Mirror Paneled Doors

Description: An exceptional Georgian style two piece inlaid secretary in burled walnut by Baker Furniture, its upper case with a shaped crest with center mirror adorned with three urn finials surmounting two arched beveled mirrored doors, opening to a multitude of arch valanced open cubbies and fitted drawers, around a central pair of arched prospect doors, opening to three fitted drawers, above two candle slides. Its lower case features a slant top desk, opening to an additional compartmentalized interior, including a hidden document drawer and leather writing with tooled gilt decoration, over two long drawers with burled veneer crossbanded borders, adorned with decorative brass pulls & escutcheons, all supported by a carved bracket base. A Baker Furniture tag can be found inside the upper long drawer. This fine piece dates to the 20th/21st century and is in very good overall condition, with minimal imperfections and light wear commensurate with age and use.
