Fender Fender Custom Shop Nocaster "Tele" Thinline Telecaster Relic Aged Blonde

Description: This is a 2008 Fender Custom Shop Thinline Relic Tele "Nocaster."I have owned it since early 2010 and in all of that time, it has never left my smoke-free, home studio. This guitar has never been gigged with or even been taken out of the house for jams. I make music for commercials and I use my guitars sparingly when I need them for work and then they are put away and taken great care of.This Thinline is highly resonant, vibrant and spanky. It does NOT sound like some kind of semi-hollow body or Gibson 335 mixed with a Tele or anything like that. To me, this sounds exactly like an Ash-bodied Tele should; it's just much lighter. The guitar weighs in at 5.99 lbs on my home digital scale. I had earlier wrote that this was 5.38lbs but my scale was off. New photo with accurate weight posted.The neck is a very comfortable neck which is not a typical U. It's nice and full in the hands but goes from a very soft V to something in between a beefy C and a U which is not something I've come across often. The 6105 medium-jumbo frets have just been polished and there are no dents or divots.The factory relic is very tasteful and realistic in my opinion. It's not overdone and unnatural.Everything on the guitar is stock besides a couple of really beneficial, non invasive and reversible (if wanted) mods. First, the saddles are Glendale Compensated Brass and Aluminum. I believe these to be the best sounding Tele saddles with or without the compensation. The stock and rusted from the factory saddles are included in the case.Second, the bridge pickup is a very hard to get and greatly desired, Don Mare "Super Sport" which is in my opinion, THE best Tele bridge pup I've heard. I bought this pickup from Don personally when he was at his shop in Long Beach, CA. The original Broadcaster bridge pup was fine, but is long gone and not included in the sale. If for some reason you'd want to restore this to stock, you can buy a Nocaster or Broadcaster bridge pickup and probably sell the Don Mare for $350+The stock Twisted Tele neck pup sounds great, and I never felt the need to change it, even though I'm an avid gearhead tweaker. The neck pup pairs super nicely with the Don Mare.This Thinline comes with the cert, OHSC and the original case candy unopened and unused. I don't have the spec sheet or floor traveller. I don't know if this guitar predates those or not, but I don't have it and it's not included in the sale, but please ask for any specific build questions. Everything on it is pretty straightforward and similar to others of the same year and model.This guitar will make its next owner very, very happy.
