Description: For sale is an exceptionally elegant 1930s art deco Inkwell with double pen stand No makers mark that we could find. The Inkwell could possibly be a French art deco inkwell based on its design. We believe the material to be polished black onyx. We aren't experts in polished stone, so please see the detailed pictures for consideration. Polished black onyx was very commonly used in art deco desk accessories. From a Westchester County New York estate of art deco and MCM accessories. The Inkwell with two cut glass and black onyx lidded ink holders with gilt metal mounts. Both in fine condition The pen stands being made of various wood grain with the one on the right appearing to be ebony and the one on the left possibly a burled exotic wood. The swivel movements on each being in fine smooth moving condition. Condition: in overall fine condition. One tiny fleabite spec on the front right top corner as deep, detailed in our pictures. Some old residue in the ink stands as is normal. Brass and gilt metal parts could use a buffing. Measurements Base - 7 1/2" long x 4 1/2" deep x 1/2" thick Height (to top of pen holders) - 3 1/2" Inkwells - 1 5/8" square x 2" tall
