The map covers Luxemburg and parts of Belgium and Germany. It is densely filled with towns, villages, churches and many rivers. At lower right is the plan of Luxembourg detailing the fortified city. The map presents a large nice title cartouche, surrounded by the gods of Ceres, Bacchus, Diana and two river gods in a landscape, above is represented the crowned coat of arms of Luxembourg with an angel. SEUTTER began his career as an apprentice under tutelage of JB Homann. Then, he left Homann to establish his own independent cartographic publishing firm in Augsburg. He was one of the most prolific publishers of his time and was honored by the German Emperor Charles VI, with the title of "Imperial Geographer".
