Description: Johnny Parsons Round Nose Curtis Kraft Open Indy Style Race Car Die Cast Toy ~ 1950's with Store Package This exceptional die cast toy race car is 3 inches long. Made by Midgetoy. This is a scale replica of the last round nose open race cars used at the Indy 500 referred to as a Curtis Kraft. This was an exact model of Johnny Parsons winning car in 1950. The following year, they all drove the new "slant nose" model racers. Midgetoy catalogs show this toy was available from 1950 through 1956. They used this popular car in many of their assortments and sold singly in “bag & tag” tag in 1954 and 1957. They also used the seldom found box to emulate Matchbox. The box is not designed to be opened. The vehicle sits on top of the box, in front of the yellow oval, they would use “half blisters” to keep it in place. Printed 49ȼ in the corner, the box is one piece with a small back board display card. We were fortunate to get some of the boxes. We were unable to find any half-blisters. The box has no printed date but is from the late 1950’s when they used it on their most popular models made throughout the decades to sell them all. The address on the box is "Rockford, Illinois, U.S.A." No zip code. The racer has sharp, three-color details! Orange body with silver and black features. The # 7 engraved into the sides. You are getting one with the box package as shown in photo above. This toy was made by Midgetoy, Rockford, ILL. The toy comes with it’s original box as shown in photos. From Midgetoys 1946 warehouse, to our 1990’s warehouse, to you! Very rarely do we have the opportunity to offer such a unique item in Perfect Condition with the store package.
