Darius Milhaud - Piano Music - William Bolcom

Description: This is a slightly unusual (and apparently well-used) 1975 stereo album from Nonesuch Records (H-71316) that comprises performances of Darius Milhaud's Piano Music: Saudades do Brazil, Le Printemps (Books I & II), and Trois Rag - Caprices. All are performed by pianist William Bolcom. Unusual details on this album include extensive, lively notes from William Bolcom that begin in the middle of the front cover (the last line on the cover reads, "Your Wagner quote proves to me once again that he was an idiot.") and continue all the way down the back. (Photo 2) In addition to an Ars Nova used records price tag at the upper right corner (Photo 1), someone has added a small sticker at the upper left corner reading "fun stuff." The album cover shows much wear from handling, and is split along the bottom edge from the center all the way to the opening on the right. The inner sleeve has a small split at bottom center. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and (except perhaps for this title, which we think came from a different collector) show little to no wear.
