Description: The Chernobyl disaster was the most severe unintentional release of radioactivity into the environment. An uncontrolled nuclear chain reaction released enormous amounts of energy and radiation, forcing nearby towns to become abandoned. The closest town of Pripyat is still vacant to this day due to radiation in the area with homes, businesses, and amusement parks becoming overgrown with vegetation. This metal fragment came from a medic box that was recovered near the power plant site after the disaster. Each display/specimen will be slightly different. The display measures approximately 4.0 x 2.75 x 1.0 inches. Only the acrylic display is included in the listing, not the other artifacts or background props.
