Description: This engaging charcoal on laid artist's paper measures 14 5/8" x 11 3/4" framed; 14" x 11" actual with app.10" x 7" image area and is housed in its original frame. The drawing depicts a handsome, confident young man that looks directly at the viewer. It is executed in a masterly hand and is signed as pictured. There is a later inscription on the back that identifies the subject as Fayette Draper Bulla (1881-1958) who was an Indiana inventor and holder of a number of patents. The sketch was likely intended as a study for a larger work as the background has been divided into a grid. There is notable age-toning to the paper with obvious oval mat burn and some stains as pictured. The frame is sturdy with old bubble glass and the back paper is loose.WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO SHIP WORLDWIDE IF ALLOWED BY USPS. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.
