Once the United States of America gained independence, it's coins began to circulate north; and before Upper and Lower Canada united in 1841, some provinces issued their own semi-official tokens. But first, a word of caution: always hold a coin by the edge and never touch its obverse or reverse. We recommend you wear gloves when pressing your coins into place.
