Description: Uncleaned and offered in as-acquired condition. Machete has some wear and discolorations commensurate with age. Handle grips don't appear to be original to the piece. They are mottled green in color and they are taped on, with no screws. Dull edge blade has some discolorations, dirt, and wear. Needs cleaned and conditioned. Blade measures approximately 24-3/4" Overall length of the machete is approximately 30-1/4" One side of the ricasso is stamped with a horse and (M)achete (Regl)amentari(o), No 877 C The other side of the ricasso is stamped Ferd. Esse(r) Elberfeld Note that the stampings are worn and partial, and the letters in the parenthesis above are difficult to see or missing entirely. Please refer to pictures. Includes the leather scabbard shown, which is well worn. The leather has cracking overall, and the seam is entirely split. Both of the metal ends are still pretty well attached.
