Description: This offering is for an antique 19th century folk art needlepoint artwork. The face of the work features a wonderful graphic of a horse, a dog and a butterfly. At the top is reads "FROM LIZZIE" and below the graphic it's dated 1882. There is an additional 1882 date on the bottom right hand corner. The work measures app. 14.5" by 16" not counting the two puff balls at the top. The back side has an original period textile with a floral print. The condition is outstanding with bold strong colors and nor rips, tears or repairs. I'm guessing there may have originally been puff balls on the bottom two corners but if so they are now missing. Replacing them will however be quite easy. Although the design is similar to a pillow there are no openings and the textile is fairly flat so framing it should be fairly easy.
