Description: Antique Vintage Original Mighty Gem Oil Painting Arizona Desert Landscape Signed Grand southwestern desert painting set in a wonderful all-wood gilt frame.Things are in bloom in this Sonoran desert landscape.Ocotillo on the left with small red inflorescences.A Soaptree Yucca in the back right is topped with thick creamy petals set to antler-like stalk.There are scrub trees and small cactus, a fine sky with light clouds above the mountains in the distance. The painting is set between two layers of gilt border with a concavity between that makes a good shadow. In the outer frames carved corner, is a sort-of knuckle form that tapers across in ridges of three to meet adjoining knuckle. To me this frame rivals the painting in aesthetic. Signed in lower right corner, additional cursive script in pencil on reverse of the frame as shown. I will miss this painting and its cool twin also for sale- of an forest grove. 11.5" X 9 1/4" including frame7 5/8" X 5 3/4" image shown Excellent Condition: There are some cracks in gilt frame segments and a few heavier rubbed spots as shown. The canvas looks great with some surface dirt and dust. Altogether as found and beautiful to hang as it sits now.
