Description: Antique Shaped Mahogany Single Fusee Mantel Clock By J. Vassalli Scarboro. This beautiful antique single fusee mantel clock has a nicely shaped mahogany case with a rich colour and grain. The clock is unusual in that it is shaped throughout the case as well as having scrolling features to the front. The sides of the case then have lovely wooden rings that are used as carry handles. The back door of the case then has a glass viewing window. Finally the case is stepped out to the base with a lovely moulding. The dial is then painted and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring of dashes marking the minutes. The dial is then signed by the maker to the centre “J. Vassalli Scarboro”. The dial is then finished by two lovely shaped hands as well as a protective glass set into a brass bezel. The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away as it should and comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key. It is a single fusee example of the upmost quality. It is of small proportions which is very unusual to see in fusee clocks. It has its working lock and key for the back door however the front door does not have its lock or key. It measures approximately: - 12.5” / 31.75cm Tall. - 8.5” / 21.5cm Wide. - 4.75” / 12cm Deep.
