This nicely styled antique clock was made by the Sessions Clock Company at Forestville, Conn., USA during the early 1900's. It features a signed Sessions 8 Day time and strike movement. This clock gongs the number of each hour and then announces each half hour with a single toll. The movement runs well and gongs properly. The rather unusual to find case is also in good condition. It has pillars with capitals and bases supporting the gently sloping gable end style roof, with rare to find swinging handles on either side. It measures 17" wide x 10 ½" high x 6 ¼" deep and still has the original finish which is in nice antique aged condition. It also has the original signed embossed brass style bezel and dial assembly with a nice pressed brass design in the center, front paw feet and nicely styled side decorations. The original signed dial has some age staining and wear consistant with a clock of this age. All in all it is a great looking, well designed clock that is timeless in styling and will fit in nearly any setting. It comes complete with the original key and pendulum.
