Description: This antique Asian WuFu bat bowl from China was made in the early 1900s and is carved into a cinnabar made surface with lacquer. It was found at an estate sale and had been hanging on the wall for many years. The center is designed with a cluster of plums surrounded by bats and on the exterior are peony blossom flowers exquisitely carved. The original makers’s mark is incised on the back. The bowl measures 12 3/8” by 2 1/4” and weighs 2lbs 54oz. The craftsmanship of this piece are beautiful! There are two small chips on the back edge of the bowl as seen on the pictures and some slight wear to the back, please see the pictures closely. It has been cleaned with a damp cloth.
