Description: This butter churn was proudly displayed in the formal dining room. Beautiful rich tones and complete 4 brass bands with patina. This was mom's chore as a child, so she was particularly fond of this piece, and it was well cared for. Handle measures 34 1/2" with paddle at almost 6", churn base is 18" tall, 8" across top, and 10" across bottom. The top has been cracked through and repaired see pics. The bottom is unattached and has cracks see pics. The churn base is in relatively good condition there is the deep scratches noted in pics with toothpick for sizing, the bottom band has the slightest movement where the brass nails are maybe shrinkage, but is not loose, all other bands seem tight. There is some shrinkage of wood they are not cracks but separate slats because they're straight, but you can feel them very slightly in just a couple spots. All repairs done are old repairs, we've had this for about 60 years and never repaired it.
