Description: This listing is for the painting that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history. I do not know when it was painted. I am guessing that it was painted during the latter part of the 19th century. I have not identified the artist. It is signed, "E. Mar. Amalfi Hotel Cappuccini". I think that the artist was probably Italian. I leave it to the buyer to decide how old it is and who painted it.The frame measures close to 10 3/4 by 10 inches. The area of the painting exposed by the frame measures close to 6 3/4 by 5 3/4 inches. The framed painting weighs close to 1 pounds 10 ounces. I am not sure but it looks to me like it is painted on some kind of art board with a paper surface that is very flat unlike most paintings on just paper that I have seen. I believe that the paint is gouache also known as opaque watercolor. The painting is behind glass. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The painting is in excellent condition. The dark areas that you might notice along the edges are only shadows from the frame. The frame has a large chip that I think would be less noticeable if it was painted a dark color or repaired. There are some tears in the paper backing. Otherwise, this item is fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this painting to be as described and represented by the 16 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied.I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation.I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes. Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends. I might not be available to answer email on weekends.
