I'm looking at the pics online and you can't see it as well as I can IRL but this is a very unique in a few ways. Here's what I see, it's not my experience that there are many goofy hat-tilted tintypes. Here with hats tilted and half-grins are 4 veterans of the Civil War, bachelor's in their early-mid 20's. This reunion of the 4 young men who fought in the Civil War together was following many a drink and taken at a circus or fair, occassion or city vendor and that tree to the left, the sky, the clouds it's all fake ....because if you look to the top you'll see the sliding rings attached to the Backdrop and slung across by rope. The fact that it was so sloppy suggest it was a busy place so that's why I threw "Circus or Fair" out there for consideration. I wonder how many the group was going off to the fight; 6? 16?
